Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi, and Halong

Almost two weeks have passed since I arrived in Vietnam. I have made my way from Hoi An to Hue, then to Hanoi and finally to Halong Bay; a series of fascinating cities where I learned such interesting historical and cultural facts and, off course, tasted every unique food that came in sight!
Hoi An, in Central Vietnam, is simple gorgeous; its architecture, colours, and scents. A cooking class, a photo tour, many walks through its streets getting caught having clothes tailored when I didn't really need any (!), and several scrumptious unidentified street foods made my stay here an incredible one.
In Hue, I had the luck and honor to be welcomed and accepted by the families living in the alley of my hotel. I made friendships there that I cherish and who made me discover the small and wonderful details of their history heavy city.
Hanoi was the return to the harmonious chaos of the big city. There is so much to discover here, and while the city is at first a base for a few side travels, I made a point to discover each alley and realized quickly how vibrant the city is.
And finally, Halong Bay, where I'm currently writing those lines in my journal, staring at a mystical splendid landscape. And so peaceful! Large karst formations literally seem to grow out of the water, steep and imposing. And that is everything you see for miles and miles and miles.
I'll be bringing all these experiences back home with me in only a few weeks and I look forward sharing them with you; through stories, photos, and numerous "Veronik's cooking asian food" nights :)
